Our cultural tour takes you to urban and rural communities to foster economic growth and encourage cultural awareness and exchange. Botswana’s vast wildlife reserves and rich cultural heritage make it a bountiful country to explore!

Participants will stay at Mokolodi Nature Reserve which reflects both the urban and rural life of Botswana - just minutes from Gabarone, the capital city. The nature reserve has a range of accommodation options with game drives, nature walks, meals in the bush, and meeting facilities. Browse through galleries, shop at markets, and visit community projects. Participate daily in workshops featuring traditional music and dance from Botswana and neighboring Zimbabwe.

Cost:         $1950 per person        

This phenomenal price includes nine nights’ accommodation, all meals, city tour, workshops and classes, entertainment and performances, round trip transfers between airport and hotel, and ground transportation in Botswana. Price is based on double occupancy. A single supplement is available. Cost does not include airfare, visa, alcoholic beverages, gratuities, and incidental expenses. 

Trip Itinerary

Day 1   Welcome to the vibrant city of   Johannesburg! Transfer to your hotel. Orientation and history 

Day 2   Jozi city tour.. Shop the Main Mall market. Music and Dance workshops

Day 3   Browse the art galleries and museums. Music and Dance workshops. Umodjia at the victory theatre

Day 4   Music and dance workshops. Soweto tour.   Traditional meal and entertainment

Day 5   Travel to Gabarone.   Transfer to Mokolodi Game Reserve. Performance by Mokolodi Dance and Marimba group

Day 6   Music and Dance workshops on Lake Gwithian.   View a range of awe-inspiring wildlife on a game drive.

Day 7   Music and Dance workshops at Mokolodi school.   Rhino tracking.

Day 8   All day music and dance workshops at world view conference center. Sunset barbeque. Evening of entertainment

Day 9   Visit SOS Childrens Village. Meal at Bull and Bush.

Day 10 Transfer to departure from Gabarone

 

Trip Extension to Chobe National Park or Okavango Delta - 4 days  

Chobe National Park is home to the largest elephant population in the world. Chobe features numerous wildlife including buffalo, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and their predators: lion, hyena, wild dog, and more.  Okavango Delta is a tranquil labyrinth of lakes and channels surrounded by the Kalahari Desert. Bountiful varieties of flora and fauna exist in this unique setting.   Additional cost: $1395

A non-refundable deposit of $500 per person is required to reserve your booking. Acceptable forms of payment are bank transfer, money order, cash, or check. Cancellations received up to 60 days prior to start of tour will be subject to a fee of $350 per person. Itinerary and costs are subject to modification.
